Your relationships and conversations are deeply personal. We designed Relationship Companion from day one so your data stays yours.

Core Commitment

Relationship Companion does NOT upload your personal contacts, chat transcripts, or intimate conversations to any cloud database. Your relationship history lives on your device.

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is processed, and your rights when using the Relationship Companion mobile application and website operated by Inov8ing ("we", "us", or "our").

1. On-Device Local Storage

All core relationship data is stored locally in an encrypted SQLite database on your Android device using Drift:

  • Contacts & Relationship Profiles: Names, relationship categories, contact frequencies, notes, and preferences you input.
  • Heart Health & Interaction Metrics: Blood Units, streak data, last contacted timestamps, and relationship health scores.
  • Scheduled Automations: Message schedules, recipient links, and execution logs.
  • Important Moments: Birthdays, anniversaries, and custom celebration dates.

Uninstalling the application or clearing application data permanently purges this local database from your device.

2. AI Processing & Proxies

When you request AI message suggestions, the app communicates with our secure backend proxy:

  • Minimal Payload: Only the person's first name/nickname, relationship role (e.g., "sister", "mentor"), tone style, and selected occasion are transmitted.
  • Zero Retention: Prompts are routed through secure, private enterprise AI pipelines solely to generate the immediate completion. Messages are never retained, logged, or used to train public AI models.
  • Server-Side Secret Isolation: API keys are guarded strictly on our backend servers, ensuring no third-party scripts can intercept your generation requests.

3. Android Accessibility & Notifications

To provide automated WhatsApp greetings and smart follow-up suggestions, Relationship Companion utilizes Android native system services with explicit user consent:

  • Accessibility Service: Strictly scoped to the official WhatsApp / WhatsApp Business package (`com.whatsapp`, `com.whatsapp.w4b`). It only assists in locating chat recipients and dispatching user-approved messages. It never captures keystrokes, passwords, or screens outside WhatsApp.
  • Notification Listener Service: Detects incoming message notifications from WhatsApp exclusively to alert you when a contact has replied or when follow-up is recommended. Notification contents are never transmitted off-device.
  • Revocable Anytime: Both permissions can be enabled or disabled at any moment from Android System Settings or within the app's settings screen.

4. Anonymized Telemetry & Ads

To maintain service reliability and support the free tier:

  • Device Identifier: A randomly generated pseudonymous UUID (`X-Device-ID`) is used to manage rate limits and optional synced user settings.
  • Diagnostics: Crash reports and aggregate error logs contain no personal identifiable information (PII).
  • Advertisements: We use Google AdMob to serve non-intrusive ads. AdMob may process device identifiers in accordance with Google's Advertising Privacy Policies.
